This great floral Perfume created in 1929 is still produced in France. Jean Patou created this perfume as a tribute to his American clients after the Great Crash of 1929. Patou launched Enjoy, a contemporary take on the original for a younger audience later in 2002. The main notes of the perfume are jasmine and rose with Ylang-ylang, Michela and tuberose adding to its glory.
According to Luca Turin, “the whole point of its formula was to achieve the platonic idea of a flower, not one particular earthly manifestation.”

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s first perfume No 5 launched in 1921. Coco Chanel was the first face of the fragrance and appeared in the advertisement published by Harpers Bazaar. She wanted to change the then perspective that women’s scents fell into two categories, single garden flowers’ essence were reserved for ‘respectable women’ and sexually provocative scents like animal musk, and jasmine was worn by prostitutes or courtesans.
